Why is mechanical fixing tape used in an EPDM system?
It provides specified membrane restraint at critical perimeter or change-of-angle details. It must be fixed and covered exactly as shown in the FlexiProof detail.

Where is mechanical fixing tape installed?
Use it only where the system specifies added restraint, such as selected perimeter or upstand transitions.
Does it replace adhesive?
No. Mechanical restraint and adhesive perform different functions.
Which fixings are required?
Use the stated fixing type, length and spacing into a sound substrate.
Does it need primer or cover tape?
Install every finishing component shown in the approved detail. Do not leave exposed fixings where covering is required.
Can it be added after the roof is bonded?
The sequence is normally planned before the membrane is fully installed. Review the detail first.
