When should EPDM be finished with a termination bar?
Use a termination bar where the approved detail mechanically secures an EPDM upstand or edge to a sound substrate. The bar, fixings, water block and top seal work together.

What does a termination bar do?
It clamps the membrane at a defined edge or wall so the detail does not rely on adhesive alone.
Is the bar waterproof by itself?
No. The detail can also require water-block mastic and a sealed top edge.
How far apart are the fixings?
Use the centres and substrate-specific fasteners in the current system guide.
Can it be fixed to any wall?
Only to a sound substrate capable of holding the approved fixings.
Should the membrane be bonded first?
Follow the specified sequence for dressing, bonding, water block, drilling, fixing and sealing.
